I’m in the mood to decorate! I’ve already shared with you all several ways that we have decorated for this holiday season. We had to get a new tree this year so we ended up decorating it completely different than years past with a white, gold, and silver theme. We also tried our hand at decorating with poinsettias and loved the end result around our entertainment center. Even our nails are painted and ready for the next holiday party. Today I’m sharing with you all an easy holiday craft to compliment your existing holiday decor.

This craft is very simple to do and only requires a few supplies.

  • 3 shades of glitter (I choose: iridescent, silver, and gold to match my holiday decor)
  • Clear Tacky Glue
  • Wide Paint Brush
  • Cardboard Box
  • Cutout Wooden Words (I choose: faith, love, and peace)

All of these supplies were given to me by the crafty folks at Walmart so one should be able to find everything they need to make this project at a local Walmart store.

To glitter your wood word cutouts, first apply the glue throughout the center of the wood letters. Take a clean paint brush and spread the glue out to the edges of each of the letters. The glue is what the glitter will stick to.

After the glue has been applied its onto glittering. Whenever I use glitter in a craft I like to do so in an old cardboard box. If you’ve ever crafted with glitter before you know how messy it can be. The cardboard box keeps the glitter contained and can be easily thrown out after the craft is complete. So all I did was place the glue covered wooden word cutout in the middle of the box and liberally sprinkled the glitter of my choice on top. After every part of the wood was covered with glitter, I shook off the excess and placed it on a covered surface to dry.

I wish we had a fireplace in our home just so I could decorate the mantle. But we sadly do not so instead of decorating our mantle space I decided to decorate our tv stand instead. I simply positioned the glittered word cutouts amongst some green garland and white christmas lights. I love the way it looks!

Disclosure: I am a part of the Walmart moms and occasionally I am sent samples to try out for myself. Although product was sent to try, this is not a sponsored post.
