If you are following me on Instagram, you may have already seen the “sneak peek” of this necklace that I posted on Saturday. When it comes to jewelry I love when I come across something totally unique. Some of my favorite pieces either shows off my personality or something that I love.
I use my camera almost daily, mostly to take photos for blog posts, but it often seems that it is permanently attached to my hand in one way or another. I love my camera dearly and love learning new tricks and ways to use it. When my camera isn’t in use, I’m often snapping quick picks with my phone to post to Instagram. I can’t help but love being behind the camera take photos of moments in time.
When I came across this camera charm at Hobby Lobby with all it’s “bling”, I instantly fell in love. This isn’t the first camera charm that I’ve come across at a craft store as I’ve seen a similar one at Michael’s as well. But it was the extra added bling that I felt represented me a little more. What can I say, I love the sparkles!

Like Michael’s, Hobby Lobby also offers a weekly 40% off coupon to use on none sale items. If you are always forgetting to print out the coupon from the website before heading to the store, consider downloading their mobile apps as they offer the same coupons in the app as well.
One aspect of this camera charm that I loved is that the attachments are located on either side of the camera body and includes two jump rings for easily attaching them to a chain. I picked out a coordinating cable chain. To attach this chain to the charm I first found the center of the chain opposite of the clasp. Using one pair of needle nose pliers to hold onto the link, I twisted the opposite open with another pair of needle nose pliers. Then I opened the jump rings on either side of the camera charm and attached them to either end of cable chain. Lastly, to secure the charm to the chain, I simply pinched the jump ring back shut with my pliers.
Helpful Tip: when working with jump rings always open to either the right or the left side instead of pulling the rings apart this ensures that you don’t distort the shape of the ring.
I just love the way that this necklace turned out. And for those of you that guessed a camera? You were right!!!! Way to go, you! When it comes to wearing necklaces what type of necklace do you wear most often? Do you prefer a short or a long chain?
